Garden Towers is part of the 28-billion redevelopment plan that took place in Ayala Center Makati. Say that again? Reinvestment in the most expensive patch of land in the country? Mind you, prior to redevelopment, this had five hotels (shang, dusit, intercon, ascott, new world), five malls (SM, Glorietta, greenbelt, landmark, rustans), two offices (6750 and Glorietta 5). Ayala Land poured in funds to rebalance the area and accommodate more residences, offices, and commercial/retail spaces--and Garden Towers is the third and last residential condominium in Ayala Center Makati. It is a two-tower development on an almost one hectare of floorplate that builds on the Ayala's experience in high rise residential development. Its unique selling proposition was vertical garden living--its garden terraces (called Sky Gardens) are featured on every other level starting from the fifth floor, alternating on opposing sides of each tower. Not only that, this marked Ayala's foray to a glass residential building--finally--and like they were attempting to outdo themselves, it's hexagonal in shape as well--a real departure from boring squared-off concrete buildings.
